VIETNAM NATIONAL TEAM - LEAGUE OF LEGENDS WILL PARTICIPATE FRIENDLY COMPETITION IN SOUTH KOREA

Receiving an invitation from the Korean Electronic Sports Association (KeSPA), on September 11, 2023, the Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA) will send the Vietnamese national e-sports team to participate in the “League of Legends national team friendly match for 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games”

The event is scheduled to be held at IBEX Studio (Gwangmyeong city, Kyunngi-do province, South Korea) with the participation of 3 teams from Vietnam, Korea and Chinese Taipei.
 

The roster of the Vietnamese League of Legends national team includes:

  • Le "SofM" Quang Duy - Head Coach
  • Tran “Kiaya” Duy Sang - Top laner
  • Do “Levi” Duy Khanh - Jungler
  • Dang “Kati” Thanh Phe - Mid laner
  • Le “Gloryy” Ngoc Vinh - Mid laner
  • Tran “Artemis” Quoc Hung – Attack Damage Carry


According to the organizer, KeSPA set up this tournament aiming to create conditions for countries attending the event to have the opportunity to prepare and practice, thereby assessing capacity, improving skills and preparing for ASIAD 19 while contributing to promote cultural heritage and regional cooperation. The event also marked the first time Vietnamese esports participated in an international friendly tournament.


Participation in the tournament is part of the plan within the framework of the cooperation agreement between KeSPA and VIRESA signed in 2021. This cooperation agreement aims to promote the potential and strengths of both parties towards the same goal, which is to develop and promote international professional standards in the field of esports. This event demonstrates that VIRESA always strengthens connections with international partner to awaken the potential for developing Vietnam's esports industry, especially in the context that for the first time esports will be an event compete at ASIAD 19, and make it as motivation to keep up with the future, gradually realizing the goal of reaching the international level of Vietnamese esports.
